Net-banking PDFs from SBI, HDFC, ICICI, Axis, Kotak and most other banks. Password-protected files are fine.

Ledgers, rules and export settings Bank ledger, suspense ledger, "narration contains" rules
Use a suspense ledger and reclassify later, or type any ledger.
Blank = import into the company that is open.
Ledger rules (saved in this browser)
First matching rule wins. "Contains" can list several words separated by commas, e.g. SWIGGY, ZOMATO.
AI ledger suggestions
Sends only the narrations (no amounts, balances or file) to our server and an AI model, after you confirm. Suggestions fill rows that are still on the default ledger.
Click any date, narration, reference or amount to correct it; the balance check re-runs instantly. In TallyPrime, import the ledger masters file first (Import → Masters) and set Behaviour of import if master already exists to Ignore Duplicates, so ledgers you already have are not moved to another group. Then Import → Transactions. Re-importing the same statement updates its vouchers instead of duplicating them. Step-by-step guide

What we read
| Kotak column | KhataSheet output |
|---|---|
| # | (ignored) |
| Date | Date |
| Description | Description |
| Chq/Ref No. | Ref |
| Amount | Debit or Credit (by Dr/Cr) |
| Balance | Balance |
Dates: "01 Apr 2024" or dd-mm-yyyy. Output dates are dd/mm/yyyy in CSV and real dates in Excel.
Kotak format details we handle
- A single Amount column with (Dr)/(Cr) markers is split into Debit and Credit.
- Balances marked (Cr) are positive; (Dr) means overdrawn and becomes negative.
- If an amount has no Dr/Cr marker, the direction is taken from the balance movement, or left blank and flagged.
Password-protected Kotak PDFs
Kotak e-statements are usually protected; the email explains the password, which is commonly based on your CRN and/or date of birth. Enter it when KhataSheet asks; it is used only in your browser. If you want an unlocked copy for your records, use the PDF password remover (for your own files).
Questions
Is my Kotak statement uploaded?
No. The PDF is read by code running in your browser and never leaves your device. That includes the password if the file is protected.
What is the password of my Kotak statement PDF?
Kotak e-statements are usually protected; the email explains the password, which is commonly based on your CRN and/or date of birth. KhataSheet cannot recover or guess passwords.
Which Kotak statement layout is supported?
The net-banking PDF with columns #, Date, Description, Chq/Ref No., Amount, Balance. Dates in the format "01 Apr 2024" or dd-mm-yyyy are read. If your layout differs, try "Other bank (generic)" in the format menu.
What if a row does not match the balance?
It is flagged in red with the expected and printed balance. Compare it with the PDF and fix the cell; the check re-runs instantly. We never change amounts on our own.
Can I import my Kotak statement into Tally?
Yes. Download the Tally-compatible XML: debits become Payment vouchers and credits become Receipt vouchers against your "Kotak Bank A/c" ledger (you can rename it), with the counter ledger set by your rules or a suspense ledger.
KhataSheet is not affiliated with Kotak Mahindra Bank. The bank's name is used only to describe the statement format we read. Sample statements on this page are synthetic.
