Statement balance checker

Find the exact rows where a statement, an export or a manual entry stops adding up.

Questions

What does the balance checker verify?

Two things: (1) each row's printed balance equals the previous balance plus that row's credit minus its debit, and (2) opening + total credits − total debits equals the closing balance.

Why would a converted statement fail the check?

A misread amount, a row split across pages, a missing row, or a debit/credit in the wrong column. The checker points to the exact rows so you can compare them with the PDF.

Why are two rows flagged when only one is wrong?

If a printed balance itself is wrong, that row and the next one both disagree with it. If only an amount is wrong, only that row is flagged, because each row is checked against the balance printed just above it.

Can I check a PDF directly?

Yes, the statement converter runs the same check automatically on every PDF.
